Hodges
Georgia
has been a
midwife since 2006, and her focus is childbirth education particularly about
women’s birth choices.
Georgia
knows knowledge means power; this allows women to take back the decision making
rather then be lead by a doctor, midwife or hospital policy.
Georgia
is also passionate about working with families and giving them support.
Georgia
was an
independent midwife in
Adelaide and then Hobart for a short time and has now returned to
Canberra
to continue to give women the option of home birth and BirthSkills. See www.birthpartnerships.com.au
for more info about Georgia's services.

Georgia
has a
daughter, Chloe who was born not long after becoming a Registered Midwife.
During
Georgia
’s pregnancy she created her own birth affirmations and listened to a
pregnancy and birth affirmation CD which made her feel empowered, that she could
birth her baby without intervention or pain relief.
Georgia
discovered BirthSkills when she was a midwife student. That was what gave
Georgia
the idea of trying birth affirmations. Chloe’s birth

Working
as a midwife I have seen women who are fearful and feel alone when this should
be a happy time, focusing on the transition to parent hood. BirthSkills has
allowed me to educate women how to work with their bodies so they can
confidently welcome their baby.
