Weekend Workshops - are held regularly in Canberra, Margaret River WA, Melbourne, Darwin and Adelaide. The weekend workshops are the most popular way of attending the program sessions. They generally run from 10am to 4pm each day (Saturday and Sunday or two consecutive Saturdays) with a 1 hour lunch break each day. Partners are strongly encouraged to attend, however, women are very welcome to attend on their own or with a sister or their own mum. You will have the opportunity to meet and learn from other couples who share a similar approach to birthing and parenting as yourself as well as enjoying a highly informative and relaxing weekend! Max 5 couples per workshop. $550 per couple or $500 with early-bird discount.
Weekly Sessions - are held in Canberra, Darwin, Melbourne and Adelaide throughout the year. These sessions are usually around 2 hours long and run over 5 weeks (= 5 x 2hr sessions). This program offers the benefit of being able to practice the techniques and discuss program content with your partner between sessions. The classes are structured but casual and held in a very homely and private setting. Max 4 couples per block of 5 sessions. $550 per couple or $500 with early-bird discount.
Distance package - if you just can't make it to a workshop because of timing or location then this very efficient and successful package is just for you! As well as all of the usual program materials and CDs you will also have 4 scheduled skype or telephone sessions with Dr Shari Read. These sessions will cover the information and techniques taught in the workshops as well as giving you the benefits of private sessions in being able to identify and address any individual fears or concerns you may have about your birthing. You will also have on-going phone and email support until the birth of your baby, individually tailored hypnosis/guided meditation CDs as required and you will receive the post-natal care pack after the birth of your baby. The Distance package is $450 per couple.
Last Minute Learning Package - if you have just found out about BirthSkills and would like to do the program but only have a short amount of time before your birthing or estimated due date then this program has been specially designed for you! For $198 per couple you receive all of the regular program materials including CDs and the post-natal pack after the birth of your baby, you also receive a 90minute phone session covering all of the basic information and techniques that you need for a positive birthing experience. Any individual fears or concerns can be addressed and, if needed, an individually tailored hypnosis/relaxation CD can be sent to you (assuming there is time!)
Private sessions - Are personally arranged to suit you. These sessions are ideal for couples who need to 'debrief' from a previous birthing experience or who have personal matters that are influencing their birthing and parenting preparations. Also great for close friends or sisters sharing a pregnancy who would like to do something special together. All BirthSkills practitioners offer private sessions (Canberra, Darwin, Melbourne, Adelaide & Margaret River) - 4 x 90 min sessions are $550 per couple.
Casual Sessions - an option if you have already purchased the program materials and would just like to go over a few things, address any specific questions or concerns or just to assure yourself that it's all in there! $90 per 90 minute consult/session.
Post-Natal Consult - Included in BirthSkills programs above or book separately to address any post-natal feelings, stress or anxiety or just parenting stuff that you would like to find out more about or if you are worried about post-natal depression. When desired, relaxation and stress management techniques are addressed. Included in the weekend workshop, weekly sessions, distance package or private sessions programs. Casual post-natal sessions are $90 per 90 minute consult or buy a block of 4 sessions for $320 (can include massage if desired).
