BirthSkills classes are provided by Certified Practitioners and hosted by the following organisations in locations around Australia :


Cost & session options:
There are a number of ways you can attend the BirthSkills Program, private, workshop and self-paced options are available.
Please contact your local practitioner (see above) to book (prices subject to variation between practitioners/locations).

(The following fees are provided as a guide only, actual cost will depend on your practitioner and the amount of time booked):

  • Private sessions in your own home - typically around 10-12 hrs to complete full program, $500 per couple
  • Private session (getting started with BirthSkills) - usually about 3hrs $270
  • Weekly Sessions and Weekend Workshops - typically around 10-12 hrs to complete full program, $500 per couple
  • Distance package - usually 4 x 60-90 minute phone calls antenatal + postnatal follow-up, $450 per couple (phone or skype)
  • Last Minute Learning Package - 1 x 90 min session + postnatal follow-up, $198 per couple
  • Casual sessions (for debriefing from previous birth, top-up sessions etc) $90 per 60 minutes or $400 for 5x1hr sessions.

Prices include (as a guide): 
• Your session/s (workshops usually include light refreshments); 
• The BirthSkills Book by Dr Shari Read (2009); [book & CD also available online]
• Birthing Preparation CD (4 tracks -guided relaxation & hypnosis); 
• Ongoing support to the birth of your baby;
• other materials as provided by your practitioner;
• and Postnatal support.
